5 Fourth Quarter Business Tips. End the business year like a BOSS!
Oh it’s that time of year again! In my house we are getting ready for sweet smells, jingle bell songs, and lots of family time. We can’t wait to see what Yankee Candle has out this year and in all honesty we already play Christmas music here and there (don’t judge me).
In business, it’s that time of year to evaluate your performance. A time to see how well you did overall and see if you can make any final changes to enter the next year on the right foot.
Here are 5 business tips to get you started:
1. Contact at least one potential referral source per week, until November 1. Say hello, introduce yourself, make them aware of your business services, and how those services can best benefit their clients or patients.
2. Contact at least one actual referral source per week, until November 1. Say THANK YOU for sending referrals to you. If you are able, try to add a little extra touch of creativity to your thank you’s. It will make you memorable.
3. Check the “contact me” form on your website. You can send yourself a message or ask a family member or friend to send a message from your website. You’ll be surprised at how many website forms are not working and causing you to miss potential people to help.
4. Start taking a look at your financial goals. Did you meet your targets for saving? Did you meet your target for income? Start looking at what worked and what did not. Now, start a next year plan of action for how you will improve those areas. See how you can cut back to save and hold onto more income. See where you have to be more aggressive in your business building efforts.
Here are two areas to consider (these are just two of many):
- Is it time to increase your fees?
- Is your website causing you to bleed money? See, Websites: Should You Rent or Own Your Website
5. Consider connecting with more business groups and with more colleagues with complimentary services. “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17)
Now go and do amazing things with the time you have in this year! All the very best to you!
